Goal of the game
In this game, you need to prepare a christmas celebration for your friends. You need to light the fireplace, make dinner, and decorate the place. The game takes place in a single room with on each wall a different part of the house. The player clicks the side of the screen to look around and therefore there are only four screens the player gets to see. Once the guests have arrived and the player opens the gift they brought, the player gets wished a meowy christmas and the game ends. The entire game takes around five minutes.
Framework
During the development of this game, I created a bit of a framework to enable faster development. The entire game runs on a small number of scripts that can be customized in order to create the puzzles the player needs to solve. This worked very well and allowed for a framework that could be used for similar games. At the moment, I don’t have plans to create more of these games. However, if I ever want to do these kind of seasonal games again, it would be very quick to make.
Achievements
This game was made in a shorter period of time. I wanted to release it before christmas as it was intended as a side project. The result is a point-and-click puzzle game that is not really hard to get through in less than five minutes. I managed to keep a close eye on the scope of the entire project and finished well before my intended deadline.
